Self-Publishing: It Has Begun...

Woo Hoo! My first book for re-release, Spells at Midnight, is up and ready through Smashwords and Amazon. I had planned on releasing Spells as a free read, but I found that if I’m not with their exclusive program, I have to charge at least $0.99 on Amazon. So that’s where I’m starting (I’m still in the midst of the learning curve, so bear with me).

Faerie Bound is up for pre-order, scheduled to release on July 10th.

I’ve officially jumped head-first into the indie publishing business. It was hard, but not as hard as I thought. Okay, that’s not entirely true. Formatting was a nitpicky bitch, but it all worked out in the end. Finding good covers for not too expensive was pretty time consuming as well. For my first re-releases, I’m so thankful I was able to purchase the rights to use my Loose Id covers for my Matched by Magic series. Natasha Snow is a fantastic artist, and I loved what she did for the series.

I also must thank Warren Design for making my cover to Eternity with a Chance of Rayne match the rest of my series so well. Remember to join my newsletter for this exclusive story.

When I first considered striking out on my own, it was intimidating. And sometimes I’m still having to stop and take a deep breath before diving in again. There’s so many things you have to do that I got used to my publisher handling. I had to go all organization on it, setting up a planner listing what I needed to get done to release all my old stuff while having time to write my new ones.

I’m always coming up with something new to add.

Of course, I’m still scared I’m going to screw something up (like the formatting, ugg, such a simple mistake but such a big headache). But I have to accept that sometimes, things go wrong. I will make mistakes. I’m human and not perfect. Thankfully, Smashwords has been extremely helpful to a newbie like me. Hopefully you all will be forgiving as well.

Still bugs me, though.

For now, I’m focusing on what’s going well. So, I hope you enjoy Spells at Midnight. And please, leave reviews on your favorite book sites.
